Kate has had a varied career over her lifetime. From human services, to marketing, to healing, she’s always been committed to one thing: providing the highest level of services she possibly can. Her attention to detail, ability to think ahead, and dedication to going above and beyond for her clients and coworkers means she has been a sought-after employee and healer.

From Human Services to Marketing

Kate began her professional life as a project assistant with the Rural Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Project, a collaboration with Vermont’s child protective services and domestic violence advocates.

From there, she moved into academic publishing, where she started her career as Conference Coordinator and eventually made her way to Senior Marketing Coordinator. Here, she designed, copyedited, and proofread catalogs and other direct mail marketing pieces. She also edited and re-wrote book blurbs.

In her next marketing job at an agricultural energy efficiency consulting firm, she produced newsletters, press releases, work proposals, and tech sheets. She even co-authored a journal article.

Finding the Healing Arts

After a decade in marketing, Kate found massage therapy. She graduated from Touchstone Healing Arts in 2010 with a certificate in Massage Therapy. That same year, she became certified in Reiki levels one and two. In 2013, she completed Laughing River Yoga’s 200-hour yoga teacher training program.

Kate spent six years in wellness centers and high-end spas. In 2015, she was given the “Best Massage” award by the Stowe Reporter and Waterbury Record. The next year, Kate opened Triskele Wellness, her private massage therapy practice. In 2017, Kate became a Reiki Master.

No More Knot-Kneading

In 2018, after a decade of hands-on work, Kate enrolled in an editorial mentorship program offered through Editorial Arts Academy. There, she learned the art of copyediting for trade publishers.

These days, Kate enjoys working with authors and small business owners, providing editing, web design, and content writing services.

When Kate isn’t working with clients or finding comma splices, she spends her time working toward her black belt in Kempo Jujitsu, studying traditional weapons techniques, and performing with her belly dance troupe. She also volunteers with The Safety Team and is an assistant puppeteer with Puppets in Education. Kate also enjoys traveling, exploring, and hiking with her husband and cranky beagle mix.
