Ancora Imparo. ~ Da Vinci
I am still learning.
Perhaps it is one of our greatest accomplishments as human beings: we have the capacity to continue learning and growing throughout our lives. In point of fact, keeping ourselves mentally and emotionally stimulated is a key way to ensure we remain active and able in our later years.
The desire to learn keeps our brains nimble, engaged and active. Learning doesn’t mean schoolwork, either. Whether we go on a deep spiritual inquiry about our inner selves or finally pursue our secret fascination with dinosaurs, it’s all the same.
We learn, we grow, we thrive.
These are the things I am learning still:
Maybe it’s not that I need more out of life, but I need different. Change is not the enemy. Stagnation is.
“I love you.” Both saying it and hearing it is the most freeing thing in the world.
Speaking my Truth is not going to alienate people the people who truly matter in my life.
I get to present myself exactly as I am. Anyone who dims my light is not someone I need to be around.
Perfection is not something I will ever attain. Cutting myself some slack because I’ll never get there is not being lazy, nor does it mean I’m a failure. It is being realistic.
I get to define what my own life looks like. It doesn’t matter how eclectic or chaotically jumbled it may seem to anyone else.
If I don’t want to do something, I don’t have to do it. Aside from the legal and responsible stuff, that is.
Sometimes good ideas just don’t work. There is no rhyme or reason. It doesn’t mean I’m a failure, it just means it didn’t work this time.
Keep exploring. The world is full of magic.
What is meant to be will find a way. If it isn’t, something better (and way more right) will present itself. Patience.
What are you learning still?
